Big Plans, Busy Kids & A Sweet Summer Ahead 🍁☀️

Things have been busy around here lately — but in the best kind of way.

Over the past few weeks, we officially submitted a grant application to help with startup costs for a maple candy line we’ve been working toward for quite a while now. It’s something we’ve talked about, planned for, and dreamed about as a family, so finally taking that step feels exciting.

We’ve already taken one big step forward and officially acquired a maple candy machine. 🍬🍁

Now comes the waiting game on the grant, but one thing is certain: with or without funding, we’re moving forward.

We truly believe in the future of value-added maple products and are excited to continue building and expanding what Pure Gold Sugaring can offer over the next few years.

We’ve also been talking a lot about the future of the sugarhouse itself and what we want it to become over time.

One of our long-term goals is to open the sugarhouse year-round as a place where people can stop in, learn about sugaring, ask questions, sample maple products, and just spend some time here in the Northeast Kingdom.

We love the idea of creating a space that feels welcoming and relaxed — a place where families can visit, kids can learn where maple syrup comes from, and people can slow down for a little while.

Because for us, maple has always been about more than syrup.

Outside of the sugarhouse, life has been moving fast as usual.

Our oldest is deep into baseball season right now, which means a lot of evenings at the ball field. The younger three have been keeping busy riding in the excavator whenever they get the chance, helping feed calves at the farm, and getting our garden planted for summer.

It’s loud, messy, busy, and sometimes chaotic — but it’s a good kind of busy.

We’re looking forward to summer, spending more time outside, working on new ideas, and continuing to build this little dream one step at a time. 🍁 Stay sticky, friends. Regan
