ABOUT US

Pure Gold Sugaring is a fourth-generation, family-run maple operation in Sutton, Vermont, in the heart of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. From our 10,000-tap sugarwoods, we produce pure Vermont maple syrup along with handcrafted maple cream, maple sugar, maple candy, and other specialty maple products. We remain deeply connected to the traditions of Vermont sugarmaking while continuing to improve the way we collect sap, produce syrup, and bring authentic Vermont maple products from our sugarwoods to your table.

Our maple syrup is produced right here at our working Vermont sugarhouse, where every sugaring season begins in the woods and ends with pure maple syrup. Sap collected from our maple trees is brought to the sugarhouse, concentrated, and boiled over a traditional wood-fired evaporator. From tapping trees and gathering sap to boiling, filtering, grading, and bottling, we take pride in being part of the entire maple syrup process. Our pure Vermont maple syrup is also transformed into maple cream, granulated maple sugar, maple candy, and other products made with the same maple syrup we produce.

Visitors can experience Vermont maple sugaring for themselves through our on-site sugarhouse tours and maple tastings. Tours explore both our working sugarhouse and our historic sugarhouse museum, giving guests the opportunity to learn how maple syrup is made today while discovering how generations of Vermont sugarmakers did it before us. Historic equipment, family photographs, sugarmaking tools, and stories from local sugarmakers help bring the history of Vermont maple syrup to life—from buckets, spouts, and early gathering methods to modern tubing, vacuum systems, reverse osmosis, and today’s maple production.

For our family, maple sugaring is more than making syrup—it is a tradition passed from one generation to the next and a piece of Vermont history we want to preserve and share. Whether you visit us to tour a real Vermont sugarhouse, learn about the maple syrup process, explore sugarmaking history, taste different grades of pure maple syrup, or shop for Vermont maple syrup, maple cream, maple sugar, and maple candy, we hope you leave with a better understanding of the people, work, and traditions behind every bottle.
